Leslie Wagner

Adult Modern Instructor

Leslie Wagner hails from the East Coast, and completed most of her professional training in Boston, New York and Philadelphia. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Boston Conservatory of Music and has a Master's Degree in Modern Dance Education from Temple University. In New York Ms. Wagner studied under Nikolai and Luis and participated in several workshops with the Martha Graham Dance Company. She has taught modern dance for over 25 years and has choreographed for several musicals. She also has been artist-in-residence, teaching creative movement to children K through sixth-grade. Ms. Wagner acted as a consultant in designing a curriculum for a Performing Arts High School in Allentown Pennsylvania and was the dance coordinator for the Hamilton Performing Arts Center in Ohio. She ran her own dance school in Kenai, Alaska, offering classes in Creative Movement, Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Improvisation. Ms. Wagner was the modern dance teacher for Juneau Dance Theatre (formerly Unlimited) for 10 years from 2004 to 2014. She looks forward to a fun and inspirational year with her new students, and JDT is excited to have her back on the faculty.
