Modern, Tap and Theatre Dance Instructor
Hali Duran is a local dancer and choreographer who began her training in 1992. She studied at the International Ballet School, Colorado Conservatory of Dance, and the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her repertoire includes ballet, modern, improvisation, composition, break dance, musical theater, jazz, tap, and Latin dances. She recently performed in Perseverance Theatre's Guys and Dolls as well as Orpheus Project's Princess Sophia. She has choreographed numerous productions in town, including Orpheus Project's West Side Story, Juneau Douglas Little Theatre's, Next to Normal, Perseverance Theatre's, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Sweeney Todd, as well as provided professional movement coaching on various PT plays such as Chad Deity and Winter Bear. She has performed with JDT advanced ballet students in productions of The Nutcracker, and April Showcase. Hali has co-directed the annual community event, Juneau's Got Talent, since the event's inception in 2016. She is proud to serve on the JDT board of directors, and is excited to once again join the JDT faculty. She previously instructed our young dancers in Creative Movement, from 2013-2014.
