Christa Baxter

Dance Team Coach

Christa coaches JDT’s Fusion Dance Team Division, instructing Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Acrobatic Dance. Born in Juneau, Alaska, Christa started dance training at an early age with Janice D. Holst. Her exposure to the competition world started with Dance Educators of America (DEA). Learning from Master teachers such as Gus Giordano, Frank Hatchett, and many more pioneers of dance. She was a Juneau Douglas High School Drill/Dance Team member, leader, and soloist. Christa was on the World Champion Team competing in Nagoya, Japan for Miss Dance/Drill Team International Competition. She competed in California with the team and as a soloist at Miss Dance/Drill Team USA National Competition. Christa was on the team that was a finalist at Universal Dance Association (a highly competitive dance organization) in Florida and was featured on ESPN. She has amassed extensive performance experiences throughout the years.  
 
Christa was a Juneau Douglas High School Drill/Dance Coach for 10 years. She is a certified teacher with Dance Educators of America and Acrobatic Arts. Christa, with her sister Danielle Cadiente, created Fusion Dance Company, which was a full-time dance studio, teaching 6 styles of dance and competitive traveling dance teams. They brought home numerous high-level awards and special recognitions for their performance. She believes choreographing is a satisfying process and enjoys creating, teaching, and shaping routines while helping the dancers achieve their goals.
