Danielle coaches JDT’s Fusion Dance Team Division, and instructs Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Acrobatic Dance. Born in Juneau, Alaska, Danielle started dance training at an early age with the Janice D. Holst. She performed with many local Janice D. Holst Productions. She entered the competitive dance world starting with Dance Educators of America (DEA) competitions. She learned from master teachers such as Gus Giordano, Frank Hatchett, and many more dance pioneers. She attended Pacific Northwest Ballet summer intensive program in Seattle, Washington. Danielle was also a leader of the Juneau-Douglas High School Drill/Dance Team where she competed at Miss Dance/Drill Team USA National Competition in California. They placed first and second in their categories and received the Mayor’s award. She was afforded the fun and unique opportunity to perform as a backup dancer for “Weird” Al Yankovic.
Danielle was a coach for the JDHS Dance Team. She received her training certification from Dance Educators of America and Acrobatic Arts. Danielle, with her sister Christa Baxter, created Fusion Dance Company that was a full-time dance studio teaching 6 styles of dance and competitive traveling dance teams. They brought home numerous high-level awards and special recognitions for their performance. She believes introducing both children and adults to the practice of yoga, meditation, dance, and other fitness disciplines in a fun and engaging environment will give them tools they can use to lead a healthy lifestyle and build self-confidence.
