Aldeir Monteiro began his training at the Centro de Arte e Dança de Campo Grande in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he was coached by Daniel Mendéz and directed by Alice Arja. He won the Bronze Medal at the XVIII International Dance Seminar in Brasília in 2008. He continued his training at the Miami City Ballet School and joined Miami City Ballet in 2012 under Edward Villella, later working with Lourdes Lopez. His repertoire includes works by renowned choreographers such as Alexei Ratmansky’s "Symphonic Dances," Sir Frederick Ashton’s "Les Patineurs," and George Balanchine’s "The Nutcracker," "Serenade," "La Valse," and "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue." He has also performed pieces by Paul Taylor, John Cranko, and others. Since joining American Repertory Ballet (ARB) in 2016, Monteiro has danced principal roles such as the Cavalier in "The Nutcracker," Lysander in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," Matador in "Carmen," and Franz in "Coppelia." He has performed works by José Limón, Gerald Arpino, Paul Taylor, and contemporary choreographers like Trey McIntyre, Septime Webre, and Riccardo De Nigris. Notably, he danced the role of Puck in Ethan Stiefel’s "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," performing alongside American Ballet Theatre’s prima ballerina Gillian Murphy, as well as in the iconic Swan Lake Act II Pas de Deux. His most recent credits also include performances as Albrecht in "Giselle" by Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg, as well as in Lar Lubovitch’s "Something About Night" and the "Black Swan" Pas de Deux.
