Team Division

Learning how to be a part of a team--how to lead, how to follow, how to support, how to communicate--is a large part of what team dancers do. While all dance students develop their teamwork skills in class, it is our competition dancers who "level up" that experience with their extra commitments to dance. Team dancers learn Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Acro styles (styles depend on team level placement) in addition to their Ballet curriculum. Team dancers have the opportunity to travel to competitions and conventions and participate in additional performances, such as JDT's Winter Showcase, and other opportunities become available.

Team placement is by audition only; youth ages 8-18 (by January 1), are eligible to audition each spring, for the upcoming season. Interested students ages 5-7 are also eligible, but need not audition. Dancer readiness is at the sole discretion of JDT faculty, and placement on team is by invitation only. To inquire about team auditions please contact the JDT office 907-463-5327 or email jdtoffice@juneaudance.org.
